As far as I can tell this is an official Nintendo. The cable is longer than the original GC controller but they are the same length as the new controller Smash Edition . by Ethan Radalia

It works exactly as it should. The cable is a bit ' longer cables on my original GameCube controller which is a nice touch. by Peter Szotkowski
